“LES MISERABLES” OPENED THE FIRST RAB FILM FESTIVAL
French film „Les Miserables“ opened the first Rab film festival – festival of investigative film – at Ljetno kino on Friday night.
It’s a new summer festival which brings cinema, music, gastronomy and education together.
The opening film „Les Miserables“ was presented by the director Ladj Ly and actors Djebril Zonga and Almamy Kanoute. Ly announced that it is a story of people in bad situations: “Even though it’s situated in France, the topic of misery is universal, so I hope that the audience will recognize it. “
Ly thanked the audience and organizers in Rab for the welcome they received and the honour to open the first RAFF.
The director of RAFF Robert Tomić Zuber also greeted the audience and thanked his team, partners and sponsors, as well as friends of the festival. Rab Film Festival was officially opened by Rab mayor Nikola Grgurić, who emphasized that this is not just a welcomed novelty, but rather the continuation of tradition in Rab, which has an operating cinema for 106 years.
Grgurić foresees a bright future for RAFF, considering the great atmosphere and good festival „vibe “.
After the film, there was a concert by legendary Zdenka Kovačiček and Greenhouse Blues Band, which marked the beginning of RAFF BEAT music program.
In next few days, there will be 13 films and 5 concerts available for the audience to attend. Special attraction is planned for the closing ceremony on August 27., a kind of „sea cinema“ RAFF SEAPLEX KAICH, during which the audience will be able to watch the film from boats, yachts or „kaić“.
