//////// Historical film location

The natural beauties of Rab are ideal to be captured on camera – a fact already well-known in the 1920s. It was on Rab that the celebrated German director F. W. Murnau, one of the main representatives of expressionism in film, made his 1923 film Die Finanzen des Grossherzogs (Finances of the Grand Duke), which helped this idyllic Adriatic island to go down in film history.
