This year once more, the educational program of our RAFF Generation festival brings lectures by excellent professionals from the world of film and journalism. More than 20 students from the Academy of Dramatic Arts, Faculty of Political Sciences and Vern’ University from Zagreb will have the opportunity to discuss various film and journalistic topics with our lecturers. Starting with Professor Nenad Puhovski, who will hold a lecture on the topic of travel documentaries and series – with the question “Travel writers – journalists, filmmakers or both…? Then film director Igor Mirković will talk about the differences and similarities between journalism, reportage and documentary film. Film critic Vladan Petković will discuss with students how to watch a film and comment on it, as an author or as a viewer: through a workshop on critical viewing of films. The editor-in-chief of the buka.com portal from Banja Luka, Aleksandar Trifunofić, and the journalist of the telegram.hr portal from Zagreb, Silvana Menđušić, will speak at a joint lecture about the approach to informing Generation Z, in an environment of misinformation. This year’s RAFF Generation will deal with both biographical and autobiographical topics as an author’s film interest. Thus, the film director Danilo Šerbedžija will convey his experiences to the students when, as an author, you decide that a biopic is your choice for a feature film. Silvestar Kolbas, who was recently awarded the Golden Arena, as a film author talks about the decisions you make as an author when you work on an autobiographical dox. Some answers to the questions of how to produce a film will be given by producer Martichka Bozhilova, director of the Balkan Documentary Center, who will talk about ways to make a local story internationally interesting, and Vanja Jambrović, a Croatian producer with international experience, who will talk about what to look out for when in terms of production, you decide to start your first film. As this film year was also marked by the Palme d’Or for the short film “The Man Who Couldn’t Be Silent”, directed by Nebojša Slijepčević, we are glad that this award-winning director and member of this year’s RAFF jury accepted our invitation to share the experience of working on that film with the students. , through a kind of backstage of the realization of this film project.
