Tihana Lazović (born in Zadar, Croatia, in 1990) graduated from Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Art in 2013.
The following year she played a leading role in Zvizdan (The High Sun), directed by Dalibor Matanić. The film won the Jury Prize in the official competition programme Un certain Regard at the 68th Cannes Film Festival. For portraying three different women in the film, she received the Golden Arena for Best Actress at the 62nd Pula Film Festival, the Award for Outstanding Actress at the 25th Film Festival Cottbus, the Best Actress Award at the Cinoche International Film Festival in Quebec, Canada, and the Best Actress Award at Pristina Film Festival in Kosovo.
At the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival, Tihana was selected as one of the 10 most promising European actors in the Shooting Stars programme for her role in the award- winning The High Sun.
She appeared in Zrinko Ogresta’s On the Other Side (2016), which was screened in the official Panorama section at the 66th Berlinale.
In late 2016 she finished filming the Italian-Belgian film Sembra mio figlio (Just like My Son), directed by Costanza Quatriglio, in which she had a leading role. She appeared in the TV series The Paper, which is broadcast on Netflix, and The Success, showing on HBO. She plays the female lead in Dalibor Matanić’s new film The Dawn.
In addition to film work, Tihana also works in the theatre and is the lead singer of the jazz band “One, Two, Trio and Tihana Lazović”.
