6th RAFF – festival of investigative film, was closed last night with an award ceremony.
Members of the jury – journalist Elizabeta Gojan, actor Zlatko Burić Kićo and director Nebojša Slijepčević, gave a special mention in documentary category to “Sky over Zenica”, directed by Nanne Frank Moller and Zlatko Pranjić.
The best documentary film is “No other county” by Palestinian and Izraeli authors Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor.
Special mention in feature film categoy is the “Les Indesirables” by Ladj Ly.
The best feature film is Iranian “My favourite cake”, directed by Maryam Moghaddam and Behtash Sanaeeha.
The audience award for the best film went to “The promised land” by Nikolaj Arcel.
The RAFF management also awarded a 12 year old Lota Szilvasy, a young film maker for her first video story “Magical summer”, filmed in Rab, inspired by the films she watched on RAFF as a 10 year old. We wish Lota to make many more films, to see her regularly in Rab, and to have her films in RAFF programs, winning RAFF awards in the future.
6th RAFF was closed by the Mayor of Rab, mr. Nikola Grgurić, who said:
“Project Rab Film Festival was arranged in 45 minutes. Six years later we had the best edition so far. We believe in cultural project in Rab, the city of culture and tourism, of which we are proud of. We thank the film workers, actors, directors for coming to Rab, in a hope they will become ambassadors of Rab and RAFF.”
After the award ceremony, the festival was closed with a Croatian premiere of “My late summer” directed by Danis Tanović. The film was showcased by screenwriter and leading actress Anja Matković and actor Mario Knezović, and warmly greeted by the full Ljetno kino audience.
