After two days of classes and an introduction to the basics of filmmaking, the eleven participants in this year’s RAFF Junior programme spent Monday and Tuesday (24 and 25 August) on the set of their film ‘Actor on Vacation’. Working with professional film equipment and supported by their mentors, the young filmmakers completed their first real shoot.
The first day on set lasted three hours, and everyone was given their own task. The participants gave directing instructions to the actors and extras, followed the shooting schedule, recorded a variety of shots and sound, lit the set and even tried their hand at acting.
The second, somewhat shorter day was devoted to recording room tone, voice-over and detail shots. The participants also reviewed the footage from the previous day and worked together to select the best shots, just like a real film crew.
The young professionals even managed to secure a big-name actor for their project. The actor on holiday is played by Goran Grgić. Yes, you read that right. And that is all we are going to reveal for now!
The participants, mentors and actor are eagerly awaiting the premiere. The film ‘Actor on Vacation’ will be screened for the first time at the closing ceremony of the 8th Rab Film Festival, on Wednesday, 26 August, at 20:15 at the Open Air Cinema, when the young filmmakers will also receive their certificates.
