AMAZOMANIA
93’, Sweden, Denmark, France, 2026., d. Nathan Grossman – Croatian premiere
An ethically questionable and risky mission reveals the legacy of colonialism.
A hazardous expedition in the Amazon becomes an ethical minefield in a thought-provoking film about the white man’s gaze, as the project turns the camera on itself and the colonial legacy. In 1996, a Brazilian civil servant and a Swedish journalist venture deep into the Amazon to meet the Korubo tribe, who live far from civilization. Filmmaker Nathan Grossman rewinds the tape to investigate the other side of the story. The Korubo tribe demands compensation and insists on the right to tell their own story.
