Following its premiere at the Open-Air Cinema during the closing ceremony of the 8th Rab Film Festival, Actor on Vacation is now available on RAFF’s digital platforms. The film created by the festival’s youngest filmmakers can now continue its journey and reach a new audience.

The film was created by the second generation of participants in the RAFF Junior programme, which does not simply teach children how films are made – it gives them an opportunity to make one themselves. The eleven participants first explored the screenplay, basic filmmaking concepts and equipment through drama games before trying their hand both in front of and behind the camera.

The next step took them to a real film set at locations in the centre of Rab. Over two days of filming, they took on various roles – from directing and camera work to sound, lighting and acting – and, with the support of their mentors, experienced the entire process of turning a screenplay into a film. They were joined by Goran Grgić, who played the title role of an actor on holiday.

Their work was rewarded with a premiere before a live audience, a big round of applause and certificates presented at the festival’s closing ceremony. Now it is time for everyone who could not join us at the Open-Air Cinema to watch the film.
