Ángela is a young deaf woman who is expecting a child with her hearing partner Héctor. As time goes by, Ángela’s fears about motherhood grow, and after the birth of her daughter she struggles with fulfilling her maternal role in a world not adapted to deaf people, but also with Héctor’s lack of understanding. The powerful and moving drama by director Eva Libertad is a semi-biographical story of the main actress Miriam Garlo. Using Spanish sign language and witty sound effects, the film authentically depicts the life of a deaf woman who is faced with raising a child in a world she feels she does not belong to.
