The Kingdom of the Netherlands is this year’s partner country of RAFF, which makes us very happy. The goal of such cooperation with the embassies of foreign countries in Croatia is a more direct cooperation in the field of filmmaking exchange, especially with cinematographies with which the Croatian audience is less familiar.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands is a partner in several events at RAFF.
The documentary film “Protagonist”, which is screened in competition, was named the best Dutch documentary film at the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam (IDFA). Its screening at RAFF is also the Croatian premiere of the film.
The children’s animated film “Fox and Hare Save the Forest” will be one of the hits of RAFF, as part of the new RAFF JUNIOR program.
As part of the RAFF TALK panel, a discussion will be held entitled PROPAGANDA – PERIL THAT DOESN’T GO AWAY. The participants will be Margje de Koening, artistic director of one of the most important film festivals dealing with human rights “Movies that Matter”, then journalist, professor from the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb Tena Perišin, who is also one of the initiators of the Investigative Journalism course at that faculty, and Tomislav Levak, journalist and lecturer at the Academy of Arts and Culture (Department of Culture, Media and Management) in Osijek, who teaches the course Disinformation in New Media.
Margje de Koening is also a member of this year’s RAFF jury, and she joined us thanks to the support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
