This year’s RAFF Beat brings us four evenings of great music, as a continuation of the film evenings at Festival Square Varoš. 23.08. after the opening of the Festival and the great French film “Les Indésirables”, we will dance with the film crew to the beats of the now well-known rap music guests “Soul Shadows”. We are talking about the best European soul-funkers from Amsterdam and Zagreb, led by frontman Mirzo Tetarić. The band members are residents of Amsterdam’s Bourbon Street Club, where almost all the greatest musicians of the 20th century have passed through its stages. Musicians from Soul Shadows Tantriq shared the stage with almost all of them – Rolling Stones, Prince, Sting, B.B. King, ZZ Top, Joss Stone, and lately with Mario Biondi, Beyonce, Smoove&Turrell. Their guest appearance this year brings us another evening of soul and funk, to which Rab’s audience reacted brilliantly. The first concert of the 1st RAFF edition was held six years ago by Zdenka Kovačiček, with her great Greenhouse Blues band, a concert that is talked about until today. At the beginning of the new five-year RAFF cycle, Mrs Kovačiček and her band are determined to bring the Rab’s audience even greater concert pleasure than in 2019 edition. Blues as lived by Zdenka Kovačiček is an invitation to spend your Saturday evening (August 24) in Varoš. A day later (August 25), the world star DJ Maestro is coming to Rab. An artist with multi-platinum sales for his releases with the record label BLUENOTE. He gained worldwide fame with the compilation BLUE NOTE TRIP. This project connected him with world-renowned musicians with whom he has performed many times (INCOGNITO, AMY WINEHOUSE, CHAKA KHAN, LENNY KRAVITZ, MARIO BIONDI, JAZZANOVA, PAROV STELAR, JAMIE CULLUM world tour). Additionally, he is the only DJ who has obtained the rights to remix NINA SIMONE’s album “LITTLE GIRL BLUE.” DJ Maestro will present himself on Rab in two editions, on Sunday (August 25) and Monday (August 26). With remixed film music on Sunday, and a day later with world-famous hits. Admission to all concerts is free.
